The top level of the villa is reserved for the property owner’s private use and is not accessible to guests. Outside, a generous secluded garden offers outdoor entertainment areas and a large swimming pool. The peaceful setting has dramatic views over the scenic coastline and Robben Island, making it perfect for a relaxing holiday getaway with friends and family.

The neighborhood

The villa is located in the cul-de-sac of Ocean View Drive, giving you direct access to a network of trails on the slopes of Lion’s Head. Clifton and Camps Bay beaches are a short drive by car.

It’s no surprise that the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront is the most visited attraction in Cape Town. The working harbour offers over 350 retail outlets; over 80 eateries, restaurants and bars; a number of luxury hotels and spas; food and local handcraft markets, plus plenty of activities such as Robben Island, sunset cruises, and the Two Oceans aquarium.

Cape Town boasts many high-end restaurants in different locations from the city’s CBD, just 5km away, to more scenic outdoor locations dotted around the peninsula. For fine dining, we recommend La Colombe in Constantia or FYN in the city centre, both of which need to be booked in advance. The Chef’s Warehouse restaurants, such as Beau Constantia, Maison and Thali, offer excellent value meals served as sharing plates with “tapas for two”.

We recommend hiring a car to make the most of your scenic surroundings. Cape Town’s CBD is about a 5-minute drive and the V&A Waterfront is about 10 minutes.

The Clifton beaches are just around the corner – a 5-minute drive – while the glamorous Camps Bay strip with all its restaurants and bars is about 7 minutes by car.

Located in a quiet residential area, the villa is a 20-minute walk to the hustle and bustle of Sea Point with its shops, restaurants and seafront promenade. There is also a MyCiTi bus station near the house which is air-conditioned and affordable. Card passes can be purchased for R35 from MyCiTi station kiosks and local retailers.

Uber operates in Cape Town and surrounding areas with well-priced trips – around R40 to the city centre.

Additional information

Large glass doors lead into a naturally lit entertainment area with a lounge area offering fantastic views, dining area for 8 people, guest toilet and sauna. The kitchen has a central island and is fully equipped with a fridge, dishwasher, microwave, plus a Bosch oven and 4 hobs.

The secluded garden has a Weber Grill and an alfresco dining area on the patio, making it perfect for a BBQ. The generous outdoor space also has a large swimming pool, sun loungers for sunbathing, and more outdoor couches.

Upstairs there are four bedrooms connected by a comfortable central lounge area ideal for watching TV. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, plenty of cupboard space and sea views. The other two bedrooms have views over the ocean, while the third bedroom is more tucked away with limited sea views. There are two more large family bathrooms on this level.

GUEST ACCESS

Guests have access to the bottom two floors of this large villa. Access is via outdoor stairs, which is not wheelchair friendly and may not be suitable for people who have problems walking. Please note that the top level of the villa is for the property owner’s private use and is not accessible to guests.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

Water restrictions
Cape Town is recovering from a severe drought and the government has restricted water usage. The swimming pool is available for use as we fill it with recycled water purchased from an external source. The grass in the garden has been replaced with Astroturf in order to save water. Thank you for understanding and supporting this initiate in the interest of the local community and our planet.

High season (December and January)
Minimum number of guests is 6 people.
No option for booking ending 31st December (guests need to include 1st January).
Bookings for less than 3 nights are available on request outside high season.

Housekeeping
Weekly housekeeping services are included for stays longer than a week. Additional housekeeping can be booked at additional charge. There is a pool and garden service every Wednesday.

Security
The villa is secured with a high-tech alarm system which is directly linked to a security company.

Air conditioning
The villa currently has air conditioning in some of the rooms. From June 2019 onwards, all bedrooms will be equipped with air conditioning.

Private chef
If required, we can arrange a private chef to cook for you during your stay.
