The neighborhood

Villa Cala del Pulpo is located in the seaside town of El Campello on the Costa Blanca within the Valencian Community. With its 23 kilometres of broad, sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters, El Campello offers a variety of activities for water-sport enthusiasts. If you prefer to keep your feet on dry land, there are plenty of hiking and cycling routes in the surrounding mountains. Those who enjoy cooking can handpick a fresh fish for dinner at the auction, held in the port every weekday afternoon.

Only a few tram stops away is the 7km beach of San Juan, offering a vast choice of “Chirginguitos” (local Spanish beach bars) and different water sport options.

Further afield, you can take a step back in time and soak up the traditional Spanish village atmosphere in the charming town of Aigües, a 20-minute drive by car. Alicante boasts many high-end restaurants such as Michelin-starred Monastrell, Nou Manolín, and many more. The vibrant city comes alive at night and is renowned for having some of the best nightlife spots in the country.

If you want something closer to home, we recommend two restaurants: Isla Coveta, a Mediterranean restaurant in a beautiful outdoor setting, and Chiringuito Casa Thomas, which offers local cuisine in a stunning beach location.

Getting around

Although there is adequate public transport, we recommend hiring a car to make the most of your scenic surroundings. There is free parking available at the property.

The tram station Cala Piteres is an 8-minute walk from the villa and the tram L1 is ideal for taking day trips to explore the area.

The direct route to downtown Alicante takes just 20 mins; the charming city Villa Joyosa is a 25-minute tram ride; and the historic coastal fortress of Castillo de Denia is a 40-minute journey.

Additional information

The villa is split over two levels and offers plenty of outdoor space. There are various terraces for different times of the day, depending if you’re looking for sun or shade. With both the integrated outdoor grill plus the high-end Weber gas grill, it’s easy to BBQ for big groups.

All the bedrooms plus the dining area have air conditioning. Please note that the bedrooms are on the smaller side and the downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms have not been renovated. The upstairs bedroom has a view, but the downstairs bedrooms face the courtyard, which belongs to the house. All the bedrooms are very peaceful and quiet.

The villa offers direct access via a private staircase to a small cove. You can find some shade at most times of the day and cool off with a swim in the sea. Please note that if the wind blows in a certain direction, some seaweed can build up in the cove. Guests can access another small pebble beach, a short 3-minute walk along a small walkway between the houses.

If you’re looking for a wide sandy beach, El Campello is a short drive away and offers plenty of restaurants options with views of the coastline.

Guest access

Guests have access to the entire villa with all four bedrooms, all outdoor patios and entertainment areas, a private pool and a private beach cove. A storage area is not accessible to guests.

Interaction with guests

Your local contact will be Ferdinand and Elke from Villa Care. You’ll receive their details after your booking has been confirmed.

Other things to note

The swimming pool has to be accessed every Friday to be cleaned and serviced. At the end of your stay, we’ll take a meter reading and you will need to pay for the electricity that you and your guests consumed. This is charged at €0,24 per kw. With normal consumption (turning off the aircon when you go out, etc.) this usually is around €3.60 per day, but can vary depending on your actual consumption.

No early check in and no late check out available.

Please recycle and drop of your garbage before you vacate the property. The garbage drop-off point is located at the top of street (100m) and recycling is available down the street.

The property contains stairs and is not wheelchair friendly.
